I took a couple pictures in the airplane from GRX to MAD.
On the plan from Madrid to Paris (Orly), I sat next to some dude. And we started talking. He's a 29 year old doctor from Algeria who was visiting a friend in Paris. We talked a lot about everything and nothing the whole flight. When we arrived at the airport he asked me to wait so he could get his suitcase. I had nothing else to do so I did. Once he got his bag, he told me his friend was going to pick him up and that his friend would take me to wherever I needed to go. It didn't sound sketchy because he told me everything about himself on the plane and I could tell. I told him if he called his friend to make sure it was okay with him then maybe. I didn't end up going, I just took the metro and used a map I got at the information desk.
My destination was Montmartre, by Sacré Cœur. By taxi, it would easily be a trip of 50€. I was staying with a girl named Sabrina. She was super nice and helpful when it came to finding her place. Her boyfriend, Emmanuel, lives with her. She gave me water when I arrived, I was so thirsty. It felt like water from God's hands. We all basically went to sleep right after that.
The next morning, I woke up and tried to figure out what I was going to do for the day. I knew I had to meet up with Eliza, my sister's friend. Before leaving the wifi zone of the apartment, I left the map up so I could see how to get to my destination.
Unfortunately, here was some construction and I didn't know which way to go. Not to mention I hit cancel which deleted the route. Luckily, I wrote it down on a piece of paper and drew a sketch of the map. I turned the map so I could see it in a different point of view. Once I figured out where I was, I put a little pep in my step.
At one point, I thought I was going in the wrong direction because the blue dot that was me was going left instead of right. So I walked 2 blocks in the other direction. I looked at my map again and zoomed out... I forgot that I turned the map around so when I thought I was going the wrong way, I was going the right way! Ugh!!! I turned back around and walked. I was hoping that Eliza was still there! And when I gt the meeting point, St. Paul metro entrance, I looked around. I didn't know what Eliza looked like, so that didn't help all that much. I had to open up her profile on whatsapp and squint at a picture that was focussed because I didn't have wifi. I saw a girl who looked like she could be Eliza. I yelled her name, and she turned around. I had found her!!! I apologized for being late and told her what happened.
We started waking towards Place des Vosges! My sister had told her to take me to non-touristic places. Of course Sarra would want that! In Place des Vosges, there is the Victor Hugo Museum. This is Place des Vosges.
These are pictures for the Victor Hugo Museum.
After the museum we walked a little farther towards Le Louvre. On the way we passed a couple buildings I wanted some snaps of! I totally had tourist moments and I didn't care at all! I wanted pictures of shit that liked!!
Before going into the Louvre, I bought the only souvenir I wanted from France: l'Arc de Triomphe. I already have an Eiffel Tower, and I wanted something else.
We continued our walk to the Louvre!
