On Saturday we went to Frigiliana and Nerja. Frigiliana is a town that has a bunch of white houses and is really pretty and Nerja is a beach.
We had to meet at 8:30 at the post office which wasn't that bad since we only stayed out until 2 or 3 the night before. I got up at 7 and did my shit and headed off to the post office. It was raining when I opened the door so I took my handy-dandy raincoat. You know, the blue one with the mint birds on it!
We got on the bus and started the hour and 45 minute trip to Frigiliana. On the way there, the bus drive suddenly stopped on the highway and everyone was like what the fuck is going on. No big deal, the car in front of us hydroplanes and did a 180. Fucking idiot. As we drove passed him he was put his hand up and was like "it's all good." No bitch, you just hydroplaned, not good. That shit was kind of freaky though.
I didn't take any pictures when we got to Frigiliana because it was raining m. But it ended up letting up so I should have. I'll probably steal some from other people and add them on to here later.
The next stop was Nerja. It was a really nice beach even though the weather was super cloudy. The bus dropped us off and we had to walk "5 min" in Spanish time which is like 10 or 15 in real people time. We stopped at a vista point and it was super pretty!
And here's a picture with Dani!
We still had to continue walking and we turned on this street and had this view!
Clare and I walked around on the beach by the restaurants and got ice cream. Something called "cookie" it was really good. Then we went with Jacey and walked along the shore but then the rocks were hurting our feet. We turned around to go back and saw a couple of the girls in our program. They said that they were going to swim around the rocks and go to the cliffs where a couple other people were. After debating we ended up going in.
It was one of the longest swims of my life, i swear to god. i felt like I was treading water for hours. The good thing too though was that the water was so clear that you could see the bottom even though it looked like 20 feet deep. A couple people were jumping off the cliff and into the water. Jacey and I wanted to go up and see what it looked like from the cliff. There were two spots people were jumping from, one that looked about 10 feet and another that looked like it was 25 or something. I didn't jump off because I was a little nervous to. Clare ended up climbing up the rope and coming to the top too. We both wanted to jump but it was seriously high. But then I thought of Amanda and said "YOLO!" I told Clare we could jump together and we did. Air time was literally a second a half to 2 seconds. You're in the air and then you realize you have no idea when you'll hit the water so you scream. It was AMAZEBALLS! I wish I hadn't done it just once, but we had to start swimming back. So we did. It was so much fun.
We got back to Granada in one piece and split ways before going out. Later, Allison messaged me and said that Jorge texted her about when and where to meet. We decided on Hannigans and at 11. I guess there's 2 Hannigans in Granada. Andres ended up calling me and said that it was closed when Allison and I were standing outside it and it was open. They came to the one we were at and we all started talking. Carlos didn't come, and Miguel was still weird as fuck. He goes "did you see I got a haircut?" And I looked at Allison like "are you shitting me?" Like no, I just met you last night, I didn't pay you any attention cause your weird and then you want me to notice you got a haircut? No no no, not how it works.
Whatever. Miguel and his friend whose name I don't know or remember left. And then it was just is four. Andres tried telling me that Carlos was in love with me, but that didn't make any sense because Carlos was quite the night before. And I was like no, you're lying. Andres likes to joke around and see if we're gullible. Just like when he said his dad is the owner of Mae West. Pffff!
I asked Andres if he's from Granada. He's from a small village that starts with an A and it has a population of 700 people. He told us that he has a small plane and he has a picture of his village on his phone. He showed us the picture and while I had his phone in my hands I looked at Allison and said "should we see what other pictures he had" and he saw that I was trying to figure out how to work his phone so he grabbed it before I could. Smart cookie, that one.
We walked outside and it was a little nippy so Jorge have me his coat. John is, he didn't have a coat on him. He grabbed it from his motorcycle!
I was like "what?! You have a motorcycle?!" And I told him that I want to go on it one day. And he said yes! And I said "Fuck yeah" which brought us to the usages of the word "fuck."
You have to understand that I use the F-bomb on a daily basis for emphasis. Jorge and Andres realized this within 2 times of hanging out and asked why. I explained that it can be used as a more than just a verb, it can be an adjective, an adverb, and even a noun.
Andres said that my whatsapp wasn't working and I said that doesn't make sense because his contact came up in my whatsapp after I put his information in. And I showed it to him and he said to text him when I get back to the house (cause wifi). They left soon after that.
Allison and I ended up going to Mae West and it was pretty fun. I think I'll have to drink more than just 2 glasses of tinto de verano. Going 90% sober is not the best option, and now I know. There was this fucking creepy dude though who was in front of us in line and he started talking to Allison and he had a lisp, not the Spanish lisp, a real lisp. Which made it 20 times more harder to understand. Creepy thing is though he like found us inside and wouldn't leave and ended up getting closer to us as time went by. We changed spots later.
We were up front next to the VIP section. There was this gay guy who was dancing and he was so cute and I loved his moves and he was just awesome!!! He ended up signing the lyrics to us and pointing to us and we were like his fans and doing the same thing. But the fucking bodyguard was not budging. How rude.
Allison and I ended up leaving at 4:30. As we were walking back I saw three guys walking and I immediately recognized David the bartender. I stopped and said hi and then saw that he was with Francisco and... THE AUSTRALIAN GUY! I was like "Lachlan?!" And he ran up to me and I have him a big hug and he picked me up and then he went to put me down but then picked me up again but like cradle style. (There's really know other way to describe it but you know what I mean. Details are important!) so he picked me up and I was just chilling in his arms with my arms around his neck for more security so I wouldn't fall or anything and we were just talking. He put my back down and we kept talking. And uh, I just love him guys. I love his accent, I love his face, I love his personality. He's just awesome! We said bye cause David was being an asshole and wanted to go drink. So I have Lachlan a big hug and hopefully we hang out again! I love that guy. For reals!
And then I went home and that was my night! Stay tuned for more adventures!
With love,
Tiz
