Instead of going to Mae West for the 3rd time, we FINALLY went to Camborio. First we pregamed at Poë. I got a gin with lemon fanta. It was really good, a little strong at first since the bartender is generous with his alcohol. The tapas at Poë are all nut-free gluten-free and dairy-free. Which I think is actually cool. I ordered a little chick pea salad which was delicious. Although I'm not really a chick pea person, I ate everything BUT the chickpeas.
Camborio was having a special where it's free entrance for girls and free drinks for girls until 1:30. It was also an Erasmus night. I wanted to go at like 12:30 to Camborio but the people who I was with wanted to go to some place called Campus. When we got to campus, I called Jorge and he said that the people who go to campus are 17 and 18.
After I told them that, we finally headed to Camborio. I got a little annoyed because some people were complaining about how we wouldn't make it in time for the free entrance and drinks. And I wanted to be like "well if you hadn't changed the original plan and listened to me then we would have!" But I didn't, cause I'm nice and keep my mouth shut.
And honestly, the reason I don't really like doing stuff with Americans is that they are not informed and don't know a thing about where to go for parties.
There are American students all over and I just want to meet Spanish people and speak in Spanish. Whenever we hang out with Americans we end up speaking in English which is NOT what I want to do, at all.
Here are the reasons that Camborio is better than Mae West: there are not creepy older men who still think they are young, there's a really cool outdoor area where you can still hear the music, it looks like a cave, there's an amazing view of Granada and the Alhambra!
Oh my god!! So I was dancing with Allison and we decided to get some air because it was freaking hot inside! We're slowly making our way through the crowd when some guy turns me around and is like "where are you from, you are so beautiful" and then he kisses me on the cheek. And I was just like "okay, thank you" and walked away because I wasn't about to deal with that.
After cooling off a little Allison and I went back inside and ordered some drinks. All of a sudden she taps me on the shoulder I turn around and see Jorge, Andres, and Carlos! They pregamed at Andres's apartment and then came to meet us. Allison asked if I wanted to stay with them or go with her to the others and I decided to stay with them and hang out cause I only see them once a week, at least I have for the past 2 weeks.
I spent the rest of the night with them. We went inside to dance and I was talking to Adriana when this other guy grabs me is like "...me llamo Pablo...." I'm not even kidding, hats all I understood because he came out of motherfucking nowhere. And he does the besos and I'm like dear god help. I knew Jorge was behind me, so with my left hand behind my back I start grabbing his arm as my sign of like help me! And he pulls me towards them and I'm like "fuck yes, SAFETY!!!" This is another prime example of why it is good to have Spanish guy friends. Did I mention I got a free shot? Andres payed for it, which is still free.
Jorge started talking to some girls because the one in my program he likes, was with some other dude. When he puts arms around me or we hold hands while dancing I know it doesn't mean anything. He's literally someone I'm comfortable with. One if the girls said that we look like we could brother and sister (I don't see any similarities) but we looked at each other and we were like "heyyyy" and exchanged a hug.
I started zoning out for about 20 mins. Jorge asked if I understood the conversation and I said "oh, I'm not really paying attention." He pulls me to the side and says "it's a bad night for both of us." I knew right away he was referring to him and Jackie not happening and nothing happening with me and Andres. And I was like "yeah, oh well." The next thing Jorge said was that he was glad we're such great friends! That came out of nowhere and was really nice of him to say. So I have him a big hug and I said " I love ya Jorge!" And he was like "I love you too Tiz" hahaha.
When Andres was done talking to those girls, he started asking me why I was nervous. I wasn't nervous so I didn't quite understand what he was talking about. When he was talking to the girls? I don't know, shoot. I mean you do you. And then he started getting more touchy and putting his arm around me and standing super close to me. And I'm just like, okay dude. We decided to head back and on our way to plaza nueva Andres would pull me back and stop walking so he could talk to me, for example: Carlos jokingly said that I hate Andres. Andres asked if that was true and I had a smirk on my face and did the whole "zip my lips and throw away the key motion" and just kept walking. He stops me and Carlos and Jorge are still walking and he asks me if it's true, and I just have a smile on my face and he says "no, tell me, why?" I gave up and told him that I don't hate him.
Another example would be when he asked me if I think he's a good person. I said "sometimes yes, sometimes no" and he's like "what do you mean?" I told him when he's with his friends he's a good person, but when he's alone, no. He wanted examples of when and I of course I'm making this up and I have no more creativity cells at the moment so I just told him I was kidding. And then he puts his arm around me and we catch up to Jorge and Carlos.
Jorge ended up taking a cab home and I walked with Carlos and Andres to the post office. Andres was talking about the wedding tomorrow. And I said have fun and he was like "do you want to be my date at the wedding?" I looked at him, smiled and called him a jokster. Because its like 6:15 say of the wedding and that just doesn't make any sense, granted I would love to Spanish wedding, still. We got to the post office and Andres has his right arm around me and my arms are crossed so that you can't see that the fingers are intertwined and we're holding hands. Strategy bitch!
Carlos was just chilling listening and explaining if I didn't understand anything. He's actually really cool! I'm glad he opened up to me and talked. His English is surprisingly good and he took French classes a couple of years ago.
Andres kept pulling me in and giving me hugs when we were parting ways. But I finally crossed the street and walked home.
With love from Granada,
Tiz
