With love, Tiz: Quirky in Corfu, Greece

After debating for about 3 weeks, I finally decided to do a spring break trip to Greece through a traveling program bus2alps. I chose the "island hopping" because if I was going to go to Greece, then I was going to go to Santorini.

The first city was Corfu. In order to get there, we had to take a 4 hour bus ride from Florence to the port Ancona, a ferry ride from Ancona to a port in Greece, and then a ferry ride from that port to the island of Corfu followed by a 20 minute bus ride to our accommodation.. The Pink Palace. It was very bright pink so you can see how for a blue person, like myself.

There were a couple activities available and I decided to go on an ATV. It was my first time and super fun. We drove all over the island and got to see some amazing views. We stopped near the shore for lunch and had a break for about a half hour. We got back on the road and drove for a couple more hours. At one point, we went on an off road that was filled with rocks of all sizes. For someone who has no arm strength and skinny arms, it was kind of hard. The ATV was controlling me more than I was controlling it. My ATV was going off the edge into shrubbery when I stopped it in time and my friend Casey tried to help me. He had the bright idea of pushing the gas to turn it around but instead it went headlights first into a tree. Than we had everyone try and help pull it out until the guide in the back came running over to help get it out. Funny times.

Once we got back to the hotel, we changed and got ready for dinner. The food was so good. First they gave us soup, which was delicious, and then a plate with beef, corn, and salad. After that, people were dancing on the floor and getting drinks at the bar.

The second day, it was beautiful so we stayed on the beach and laid out on the lawn chairs in the sand. I met some fun people like Frankie, Ashley, Cat, Andy, Todd, and Ricky. I ended up seeing Francesca who is in my fashion class so I stayed and talked with her. It was super fun. I also met a bunch of Australians and Brits and one from South Africa. They were so cool, but were leaving that day and weren't staying for the toga party. It was kind of sad. I loved them, if only I had talked to them when I had seen them the first time. I spent the rest of the afternoon with them. And Jake said he'd steal a shirt for me but unfortunately that didn't happen.

After they left, I paid for my pink toga and went to get ready. I couldn't figure out how to do it, so I went down and had the lady bartender help me with it. No one was really in the reception area luckily because she had to open it up and I was essentially in my unmentionables. I paid attention to how she was doing it so I could do it later on in life, if I ever had to. I ended up helping Aisling and Danielle with theirs, so luckily I was watching and taking mental notes.

The toga party was so much fun, dancing the night away with friends.

The next day, I woke up, changed, and headed down to breakfast. After eating, I ended up staying down at the beach bar all day. The weather wasn't the greatest. It was cloudy and started raining for the majortiy of the day. People were drinking, and playing games. At one point, my favorite song came on and I started dancing by myself. I didn't care, no one was paying attention anyways. So much fun. No one knew the lyrics except for me and Vince who was on the opposite side of the bar so we started singing to each other. Later on, Sal decided to go swimming in the water like a psycho. Everyone was yelling to get him back inside, The waves were huge and this crazy kid decides to jump in. No, no, no, no. That's a death wish. Luckily, nothing happened but then Spencer decides to go swimming too. Boys are weird.

I randomly heard someone yell my name and it was Erin! From my soccer team in Florence. She booked her trip with Euroadventures (who I love) and they had arrived the day before. I was so happy to see them and the guides. Cam and Kait are my favorite!
